Sorry about the inactivity again. I'm currently at the library typing this and just wanted everyone to know what's been going on. Well there was this very very bad storm with wind and lightning everywhere. Our power went out Friday night and is still out.
Then on Saturday while my stepdad and I was lookin for a generator to buy for our house. We saw that some people's houses were completely ruined by big trees falling on them. Some telephone poles were destroyed and tree branches were just everywhere. There's a big tree that fell in our backyard and we still gotta move that sometime eventually.
Well, I live in Virginia. And at first I thought this power outage was just us. Then I learned that only a few people have power. And this power outage thing effected everyone in North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, New Jersey, West Virginia, and even went as far as Ohio and Illinois.
My stepdad and I were looking for some Ice Bags to keep (before we bought the generator). And basically every grocery store has no meats anymore, since their power went out and their meats went bad. Stores around where I live have empty parking lots because they have no electricity and it's hard to find ice, since so many people need it. There are people driving on the roads, but the parking lots are just empty.
My house is fine. We have no running water, but we had to buy cheap drinking water (which tastes horrible by the way). We live near a lady who raises horses and she told my stepdad and I that we could use her pond water to give water to our chickens and for our toilets. Basically, we have to physically fill the toilets with water every time we use them. I've been cooking food on the grill and just been eating sandwiches for the past few days. It also doesn't help that it's been between 95-100 degrees for the past few days. And my mother can't take the heat at all.
Hopefully our power will turn back on either on Friday or Saturday. But, I've heard from some people that some places probably won't have power for a month.
