Nintendo has done that with pokemon and would still satisfy gamers wanting more characters, Like a example of changing Mario into a different Mario from another game like SMB. 3

It can change in the adventure mode that they could have in this one as well. You decisions will affect what characters you want to use online. it keeps the roster low and gives us gamers a variety.A good idea isn't?
