I really don't know how this big a fuck up even happened. For Army, the only MPs who work off base are the patrol supervisor, duty officer, traffic investigations (ohai), MPI detectives, and on weekends a foot patrol to check the bars. The last 3 I don't believe USAF has, so either some of their NCOs made a huge fuckin rookie mistake or keith somehow walked past his gatehouse without authorization.

We have town patrol for the bars. Probably one of those champions of Justice.

News to me, does the town patrol do anything? I've seen Osan's blotter; they have so little happen there, they blotter the security checks just so they have something to report. XD

The one down at Kunsan did every now and then. But not a great deal.

lol all branches mess up. I've been all over. i tested every branches security at the entry level. all branches let me me on there base with just a photo id. Also, it doesn't tell you tell you much in the article. they could have been violence towards the mp's and that's why they handcuffed them. We all know we only get the parts they want us to hear in the news.

Most posts in the US only require valid gov issued photo ID like a driver license. Thats nor a mistake on the part of security, that's instilation commander's policy.

The main fuck up here is that the SFs have no authority to detain or handcuff a Korean civilian off base- imagine the Canadian Army visiting a US instillation for training and then off base putting a civilian in cuffs for an offence they have no authority to enforce. On top of that,they make matters worse by then bringing the civilians on base to their own police station instead of handing them over to Korean authorities. Huge fuck up, hence why the top ranking US general here had to say sorry to the Republic of Korea for it.

I'm sure this won't be overlooked considering how the Military is downsizing. Just sayin'.

Our town patrol is now going out with only a baton and radio because of this shit. No M9, no handcuffs, no extra gear. These fuckers you guys have out at Osan really fucked shit up for all of us. =P

Well now there is a video of it on stripes. I can't say they didn't fuck up just F.I.S.H.

I didn't know about the video, and honestly didn't realize it was this bad. I had kinda figured that the SFs were just acting outside of their authority- I didn't know they actually went so far as to take people to the ground and fight them. I can't even list the number of things going wrong in this video.
