Second Life image policy

Don't be weird. Thanks.
Okay, so apparently they're rewriting this rule. When they did a AUP update, I resubmitted a trouble ticket of two images by someone who did NOT 100% make the avatar they were showing off.
However, a few months prior, an admin found two images of avatars I made and deleted them, giving me notes as notices of them being deleted, and why. In reply, I told them I was not violating the AUP, and I did resubmit both images. I never heard anything else from this admin, nor any others. Mostly because the admin staff is just SO EFFICIENT AND AWESOME/sarcasm.
So, when I submit this ticket about this violation, KNOWING at the time this was part of the CURRENT AUP, it was closed, because the AUP is being updated.
It's been what, two months I want to say? Any other website would be following their current rules UNTIL they have been publicly updated.
However, not following these rules MISLEADS people into thinking this avatar that someone took pictures and uploaded was made by them. Credit never given, nor denied, to make the uploader look talented in their 3D work.
Now, why was it that my stuff was deleted to begin with? I'm a small fry, wile the other uploader is NOT. Is it a popularity thing, or are we just really fucking lazy?
Please, let me know, since I know someone likes to browse journals and stress themselves out more than they really should over this website. A website that is just turning into one big pile of shit.

FA+

this is what happens when an admin lets someone who knows nothing about a website make rules
That's so childish. :\
but your point about misleading- THIS I agree with 100%
Mods should always be given credit. In SL, in Poser, in any medium- 3D or otherwise.
But then again not sure how some really popular creators are not getting their stuff taken down when they are just mods? I personally think if you're a full creator you should have no problem uploading, and I know of several here that post and post and post various SL creations, full avatars or otherwise, and not get a single taken down. I just always assumed that was okay, because I kinda skimmed that part of the rules because I never thought I'd need them since I don't upload SL stuff very much at all.
SL has always been a touchy subject. Since a lot of people post pictures of their avatars, and for some time they said you can put them in your scraps.
Of which, the two images I had removed WERE in my scraps.
But, they also have all these off the wall technicalities for posting photos. A friend of mine posted a picture of her engagement ring, and FA admins took it down because you can't upload body parts, like hands.
Pretty stupid.
I rather enjoy being able to post my 'creations' on SL, but, for a while I was indeed using full perm sculpties (or mods for avatars)
I give credit where credit is due, but I can understand that I suppose. Though it makes me wonder sometimes, since I've never actually seen someone on here as an SL creator make a big fuss over others posting mods of their avvies...if it was just someone complaining about being clogged up with a submission list full of SL pics? Seems like that's the same reason they're trying to get ponies banned or something I dunno. There's so much damn hype over silly things on FA though now that I just don't even care. xP
I had an alt account back in the day where I posted little WIPS and such of things I was making for SL avs, but after a while, I had random people threatening to report me and I was like "WHY?! <_>" So I stopped fucking with it because I didn't want drama.
But when someone, who supposedly makes custom avatars, posts something they did for fun, for themselves, and doesn't give a lick of credit for any of the parts I KNOW they didn't make, is wrong.
I mean, any time I post something SL related, especially working with Opius on stuff, I tell people what's what. Sure, we share a lot of recycled bits, like teeth and such, but I'm going to say "Opie originally sculpted the base of this mesh, and rigged it! I re-sculpted it and uploaded it!" because not saying it misleads people thinking I made the whole damn thing.
I've a friend who said they'd show me how to unwrap, but they are going through some funk right now so I don't want to bother them. But ohhhhh I wish I could work on it >w< It's just still a bit confusing to me...
Ahem, but yeah anyway...I like seeing other peoples' work on here. But not giving credit is pretty much like not giving credit for another artist's work...it's just not right.
But yeah, the person is question is kept under wraps just because I don't want to cause a HUGE spat of drama.
