One thing you have to understand about me... I tend to be a very private person. Senior year of college, my dorm roommate failed to show up for reasons I will never know, and I was amazed how great it felt to have a room to myself. In fact, having some private space was a HUGE factor in my early development as a writer.

So now fast forward a couple of decades, give or take, and for the first time in my life I am giving up such a luxury. It's for a very, very good cause, but I still think I underestimated how thoroughly accustomed to having a place of solitude I had become.

I guess what I'm saying is if I seem out-of-sorts these days it's because I'm adjusting my lifestyle in a way it hasn't been in a long time. I hope you'll bear with me, and I dearly hope Lucca will too.
