Payment
Material deposit is non-refundable(because I can't send the materials back) and is the first thing to be paid. This price will vary from commission. SHIPPING is NOT covered by the cost of the suit parts. This cost is in addition to the cost of the suit., so a $300 partial would be more like $330 with shipping added. This is because shipping varries re hand, but sometimes circumstances won't allow this, and the shipping price will be given to you upon shipment and reimbursement will be expected within one week of the suit's arrival. After one week (if other arrangements have not been made) I will send a payment request through paypal.
to commission, but will usually be around $40 for small pieces, $150 for heads, and $200 for partial sets. AROUND. The exact costs will depend on what materials I have on hand and what needs to be bought for the first time for me.
The remaining cost of the suit/bits will be split into payments which will vary from suit to suit. Suit/bits will be shipped upon completed payment, with shipping. No exceptions.
REFUNDS/BACKING OUT
Material Deposit is NOT refundable. Refunds will consist of the remaining cost of the suit/bits. Some bits may be nearly 100% materials cost *like hands and tails*.
If you need to back out of a commission at any time, refunds will not be immediate. Since I use commissions to help pay bills, I've probably already used it in part on my end. Refunds will be made in 4 payments in 25% incriments, reguardless of the original payment plan.
If the refund is asked for a fault of my own, payments will be started as soon as possible. The suit will be partially dismantled and sold via auction, to be completed as a different character than originally intended. If the suit is already "Finished" when the refund is asked for, I'll be stripping parts of the suit to alter the design how I see fit, or how the new buyer see's fit, for at least a 30% visual difference from the original design.
If the refund is asked for a reason of any other origin, the suit/bits will be put up for auction on furbuy and will be started after the auction has ended and a new buyer has been found for the suit, to be completed as described above.
Deadlines
The default deadline/turn around time for a partial (head, hands, tail) will be 3 months, though it may be completed before then.
The default deadline/turn around time for a head alone will be 2 months.
The default deadline/turn around time for any other bits (hands, tail, headband ears/tail set) will be 1 month.
IF a material *usually fur color* shows to be hard to find, the deadline may be pushed back due to not having the actual materials available. This kind of thing will be evident VERY early on, usually in the first week. From there we can figure out if you still want me to try and make this by the deadline, or make it a 'floating' deadline that will be based on when the actual materials are gotten.
A floating deadline is when the time span *ex. 3 months for a partial* will be from the time materials are found, rather than the date of the commission.
This can be exempt for marking colors with help from the airbrush to create custom colors that you can't normally find, but if it is a main fur color, this might not be do-able.
RUSH ORDERS CAN BE MADE. A rush order is a deadline that is 2/3 the normal time frame OR LESS. I think I could technically put a partial together in one week of near non-stop work, but RUSH ORDER DEADLINES ARE NOT GUARANTEED. I WILL NOT substitute quality for speed.
Rush order 'adjustments'
differences in shipping are in addition
to the base cost of the suit or pieces
*2/3 time or less rush orders incur an extra $75
*1/3 time or less rush orders incur an extra $200(instead of $75)
(because balls, that's not a lot of time to make anything)
*Shipping is now 1 day or overnight, paid by the buyer
*Shipping on materials is now 3 day to overnight, shipping difference paid by the buyer
*If the rush order is less than 1/3 the usual time, it is now a priority
commission and will be bumped to the front of the que. Other
suits will be put on hold for a short time until the rush is
finished.
'Checking In' on suit progress
.... I'm not going to say don't, but I will be brutally honest. Getting a ton of messages in a short time *about a week* asking for constant updates on progress reeeeally makes me not want to work on something. Yes it's stupid, but it's a fact. Like a nagging mom wanting you to take out the garbage now instead of when the commercial break happens in 5 minutes.
I may have multiple suits/bits I'm working on at a time, and your suit is more likely to be worked on closer to the deadline than months in advance unless it's the only project I have at the time, and I tend to jump around between projects constantly, AND I tend to work on projects I find personally more appealing first *again, kinda stupid, but I can't help it. I see something pretty and I want it to happen NOW*.
That said, I'll try and put up progress shots as they happen *in my scraps most likely*. If it looks like it's getting closer to project deadline time, and I haven't put anything up, feel free to poke me about it, gently. It's possible I just forgot to post something, or I had an issue that isn't major enough to post a baww journal about that's keeping me distracted *like family pestering me for togetherness time, or a small illness that just makes me feel like poop XD* but I'll try to keep checking in, or have my mate check in if I've seemed a little dead.
I also have more projects than just suit making to tend to *art, sculpting, plushies etc* so I may have gotten into a swing with some of those. I'm an artist. It happens. And I appologize in advance if it makes you feel anxious about your suit's progress if it happens <:3 I'll try to stay focused because I understand a suit is an expensive investment.
I'll also be trying to take a bit of extra time to make the suits to the best of my ability, because a suit should look like the character it's of, and not like every other husky/fox/wolf/cat/thing out there. I may end up trying a new technique that may or may not work out well, so I might have to 'deconstruct' parts of a costume because of a flub on my end, and I don't think seeing something that was looking nice get part of it's face ripped open is something everyone wants to see XD *though if you do, let me know in the begining and I can get you 'ohgodwhathappenedtoit' shots XD*
Shipping
Shipping default is going to be 3 day with signature tracking, which is NOT covered by the original quoted cost of whatever bits I'll be making for you. If you'd like a cheaper shipping agreement, it can be discussed no problem, but the default will be 3 day. If I end up running late on a suit a bit and need to 1 day or over night it, I will cover the DIFFERENCE between 3 day and the overnight, but the original price for 3 day will still be paid for by the buyer if a cheaper method is not arranged before hand.
i.e., I'm running late and the 3 day shipping is $25, but overnighting it will cost $60, I'll pay the extra $35, but the buyer will still need to pay the original $25 agreed upon.
IF THE BUYER DECIDES THEY NEED IT BEFORE THE AGREED DEADLINE/DEADLINE MONTH IN AN UNREASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME(at least 3 weeks notice MINIMUM) any shipping differences will be paid by the buyer.
i.e., If the buyer decides 2 weeks before a convention they want it by that convention, but the suit is not scheduled to be done until 4 weeks later and I have to rush to get the suit finished and end up having to overnight said suit, the buyer would pay the full $60 for shipping. Also, the secret word for the quote form for this month is Kiwi, just so I know you read this. A little sneaky, true, but so many people don't, and there's a couple key things in here people need to know about.
In the event that a convention is coming up and the deadline is looming dangerously close, It can be arranged that the suit can be shipped to the hotel *in most cases* and picked up at the front desk*or package pick-up, which some hotels have*.
In the event that I'll be at the same convention you need your suit/parts, a pick up MIGHT be able to be arranged, IF I'm driving and IF there is room in the car for it, at half the price shipping would normally be. This needs to be pre-arranged at least 1 month in advance so packing on my end will be able to be accounted for properly. DO NOT rely on this method.
I have noooo idea what it did, so.. If you're looking for a quote, or need to contact me for something, feel free to e-mail me at LigerSprinkles[at]live.com
Also, I'm gonna put my prices here *under construction as they are, at the moment* until I can get this stuff figured out 0 _0;
