My Beaver
So today I was walking down the rainy lane and I saw a beaver, or was is a badger? Couldn't tell you. It was to far away to see, you see. But the odd thing was that this beaver-badger stopped to stare at me. He was a very odd thing, staring at me with those beady little eyes. He turned away then and for some odd reason I decided to follow him. At least, I just assumed it was a him. He skittered about, seeming to lead me no where, until suddenly he stopped. He turned back to me (and at this point I had come to the conclusion that he was indeed a beaver, and a he) and started talking. Rambling about the crappy weather his nagging wife, his dam house. I stared open mouthed until he seemed to come back to himself and invited me in for tea. I had a lovely day with him and the wife. Later that night while I was laying in bed, I realized that I hadn't even gotten his name.
