I could barely get through it without tearing up and feeling sad. I feel terrible for the poor dogs in particular since I know how much that can hurt losing pets you're close with. But combining that with everything just really makes it hard. I hope that fucker rots in jail for years when they hunt him down. Should have his license revoked for life. But I also have to applaud the boyfriend for that bit of heroics, that is impressive to have the awareness to get your girlfriend to relative safety like that. I really hope he'll pull through okay for doing something that brave.
