Everything you have to complain about, it's human man. It's everything you find in high schoolers and even beyond. It might seem a little amplified as a place like FA is a microcosm of these people, but what you're seeing is simply group behavior; or just traditional human behavior.

Some people truly scare me. I tried to start up a conversation with some random folks, and then some stranger just butted in rudely, killed the moment with his awkwardness and then fucking went off stammering some random shit until it turned into a fingerfucking popularity contest.

Some fursuiters kind of frighten me ever since a random suiter just fucking grabbed me and didn't let me go, smothering me against who knows what. :[ Gahh.. Don't get me wrong, some are cool, they're pretty chill but some begin that scary deviant behavior that just... wow. Yeah.

In the 4 years I've been on this site I've rarely encountered shitty people. I'm not sure how that happened, but almost everyone else I know has dealt with some -awful- shit, except for me. I think the key to warding off the shit-tier people in this fandom is maintaining a -completely unwelcoming- demeanor. That's pretty much the only thing that separates me from my (awesome) friends on this site. The downside to that is that you don't really get approached by anyone and you end up being the one seeking people to speak to in the end, but that's worked out pretty well so far for me.

I think it really just comes down to the fact that in this fandom especially, you just gotta be an asshole to keep yourself sane at times.

Just my two cents. I haven't been in this fandom -too- long yet, but I'd like to think I've seen enough to voice my opinion.

I totally agree, I wish I had been more stealth mode, but I wanted to put myself out there and 'try' to meet the best people. Apparently that means sorting through all the FUCKING CRAZY too.

You better know how I feel about this or I've been a horrible friend, a horrible busy friend lol. The amount of quality people you meet in this fandom is staggeringly low, well that's how I feel anyways. It always feels like if you don't don't cater to their likes then you are pretty much disposable, hell, you are. What's even worse is that sometimes perfectly cool people can get caught up in this game, sometimes out of nowhere, and it's frustrating as hell. Really frustrating.

And that's all it is, a game. A HS popularity contest full of fuck.

But I mean, at least in HS you had to DO something. Be good at a sport, be smart, be a cheerleader...whatever. But in furry it's like I PAID SOMEONE ELSE TO DO A PIC OF ME WORSHIP ME NOW. You fuckin' serious?

I know, it's juvenile, I've long since started hating the game, I mention that alot when people ask about it. Also the social ineptitude is also extremely grading. It's one thing to feel uncomfortable around people, I mean we all do from time to time but you'd expect the feeling to go away eventually, the bigger problem however isn't being uncomfortable rather becoming so self absorbed that you only talk to people to further your ego. It is absolutely pathetic. Hell, if it was in your life it would have more merit because at least outside the internet those things can be felt, they're tangible. I just don't get why the human element is so lost in this fandom, I mean shouldn't friends be worth more then digital fuck buddies? Hell, it's gotten to the point where I don't even rp light with people especially when I first meet them, not even a *Hugs* or anything like that. I still give everyone a chance though, if they can't take the hint then too bad I say. I'm not against the "light" stuff, but if I can't get who I am out, then there's just no point, and like hell I'd rp with someone all day every day, hell, I barely rp as it is now.
