On a personal note, i would say that no it isn't a good idea. Is it "wrong"? No, i do support that memebers of the military should be allowed to express their pride in any diversity they have as individuals. But, at the same time, it is dangerous in general to show personal devotion sometimes; considerig the nature of some tipics and it's current environment. And, on a second notion: it would seem like the military would have to start opening up venues for uniform wear for display and participation (ex: fur pride parade, cultural heritage, ethnic, racial) or it would appear that DoD is picking and choosing aspects of members lif that they may feel socially accepted to. In any case, i am still glad that the military is becoming more socially dynamic and less traditional; focusing more on the mission and less in the differences of who does it. Bottom line: there are still risks involved, i just personally feelthem to be a tad much.

The DoD set the standards. This is not the first nor the last thing the DoD has agreed to. I see no issue with this as the Military has already stated its position in the matter and wearing the uniform does not stand against military stance or provide and endorsment that the military hasn't already given.

Wow what a way to stain the uniform. Gay pride is one of the worst venues you could wear the uniform in. It is the worst of the worst were homosexuals are concerned. My brother is gay and he has mentioned that he would never be involved with it personally because of the the types who participate in it. I know also know many other homosexuals who will never take oat in it because of what it truly represents. It is an in yer face all out gay fest more than having pride in being gay. It is more like Madi Gras for gays. It is the for those who want to create a scene and be loud about their gayness and in yer face about it. My brother had friends that went there and were quite disgusted by what took place. Most of the polite gays have nothing to do with those that participate in this kind of thing because the ones that do go to these events are the ones that give homosexuality its bad image and negative press.

This is a very poor decision and bad move on the military's part. it had to come from people a the top who were gay themselves strait leaders would never have approved it. What ever happened to not doing things in uniform that might tarnish or damage the image of the military? Morons.

This makes me sick actually and sad, the military is doing more and more that makes it hard to be proud of it.
