Not sure of the age requirement, but you really need a huge amount of overall strength.

Heh, no kidding. And stamina and endurance to boot. I looked on the website, but it didn't say anything about age. I heard one of the contestants talking and saying how he had to wait until he was 21 to enter.

I've watched several seasons of the Japanese one, but not too much of the American version. I would totally watch it if you got on it!

I actually heard about one guy that was on there that was 19, though I could be wrong... I love that show, though. I find it odd that women hardly ever make it very far, though.

Haven't heard that. I'm gonna have to look into it more. But yeah, women don't seem to get past stage one. The hosts blame it on their low body weight, but I saw people who HAD to weigh less make it through.

I've also heard it blamed on reduced upper body strength.
