Yes, the logic IS flawed because "gay" is a loose term for "homosexual" which would mean entirely the same sex. If you're going to say that simple anal penetration, regardless of the perceived gender of the person doing the penetration, then pegging (woman penetrating a man with a strap-on) is also gay, in spite of fact that it's a man and a woman.
