I'm sorry :(

It is yes, I've lost two cats in my life.

This will be the second cat I've lost, along with two dachshunds and two hedgehogs. :< Doesn't get any easier...

At least we're able to give them love for a little while, in an otherwise unforgiving world.

Well he was certainly a loved (and spoiled) kitty, heh.

oh no!... its ok. we all have that happen to us dude. i do too. this year both my dogs passed away. its very hard. and i understand the pain. they arent "like they are family members" They are family members and they always will be.

oh wow. I'm sorry to hear that. I lost my bunny rabbit in a similar manner. She had a genetic defect that honestly, should have killed her a long time before. But she got two years out of it despite that. but when she died, I was at college, I was not okay. but it's fine to be "not okay" during these times.

I can try to give you solace from my veterinary experience though. Putting him down is a great act of mercy. Feline leukemia...you guys did the right thing. Again, I'm sorry you couldn't be there though.

Yeah, I'm not the stoic type, but I'm okay with that. :) It's been a rough few days, but it's also been nice to remember.

Lymphoma, not leukemia, but either way. It had metastasized to most of his vital organs... I don't think anybody comes back from that. He was doped up, surrounded by family, and purring at the end though. I'm sad I couldn't be there, but it would have been cruel to make him wait for me to get there (even if I could afford it).

Heh, it's nice to remember though. He was sweet, but he was kind of a dumb kitty. ^^;; Especially compared to his buddy Hobbes. For instance, one of the things they both loved doing was chasing laser pointers (not unusual for cats, of course). It was always difficult to get them in the house after it got dark; they loved being outside at night, and they'd just stand in the yard and stare at us if we called them in. Try and chase them, and they'd be gone. We could always get Milo inside, though! We just had to bring out the laser pointer... Hobbes knew better; he'd chase it normally, but not if you shined it outside at night. He'd just give you this look that said, "Yeah, I'm not falling for that." Milo, on the other hand, would jump up with this "There it is again!!" look in his eyes and run after it into the house. Every. Time. xD

That's not a bad thing :P

Ooo, yeah. that's still pretty bad :\ but at least he was staying strong to the end. that's always good.

Haha the "kind of dumb" ones are some of the best kind though! It's nice when they're gullible like that XD I'm sure you'll have plenty of fond memories for a long time to come!

I'm mostly glad he got to see his buddy Hobbes before the end. I told my parents to take him to the vet with them, and he and Milo nuzzled one last time. While I'm sad that I wasn't there, I think I would have felt worse if he and Hobbes and been seperated without a chance to see each other. They were very close.

xD Poor dim kitty. I think I will be having plenty of fond memories, hehe. Thanks for saying so. ^^
