Goodbye Canada
(copy-pasta from my AF post)
For those who don't know, I now hold dual citizenship, as I just recently got my British passport...and I've been considering what to do now that I'm also a brit now.
Well, it's decided. England here I come. Sorting out finances then I'm taking off to the UK for, well, who knows how long. May be a year. Calgary is my home, but I need to expand my horizons while I can, before I get tied down. Not everyone gets an opportunity like this, and I'm lucky to have had this option present itself. In 20 years, I would rather look back and say "I took that leap," rather than "damnit, I should have gone for it."
To be clear, this is not happening this month, more like end of august or some time in september. I have to wait on a few things first, I can't just up and leave with the bills and whatnot, but that's being taken care of and then I'm off :)
It's going to be interesting at the very least. I have a ton of family over there, and have been twice, though not in recent years. I was 3 and 13(?) previously. Now, being 25 next month, I feel it's do or die time. Either I go for it, or in a couple years I'm looking at the house/family deal, and it'll be too late once that happens. This opportunity is NOW, so damn it, I'm going. I need a change anyways.
