Inking confusion - HALP PLZ

So like, I suck at inking. I never thought about it much before, but I totally blooooooow at it.
Anyone have any guidelines they can point me to, or any tips or pointers? My attempts to use variable line weight result in fail.

I would just like to get much better and I got really confused last time I inked anything - I feel like I don't know what I'm doing anymore.
I'm having an inksistential crisis :3
I love them so much, but they are a bit unwieldy. What do you use? I've been playing with a Copic multiliner brush pen, and I like it, but my hand is really unsteady, so i end up having to clean up the lines afterward with a regular pen.
they are, however, an archival grade pen XD i do know that much
I would have never though of my inking as beautiful, but thank you very much! I'm flattered you think so.
I just stopped in the middle of the last thing I was inking and realized that I've never been conscious of what I'm doing while I'm inking, so I got stuck, because I started to think about it. And I really haven't liked how my inks have been turning out lately. I'd like my linework to be a lot more dynamic than I think it is right now.
I don't need a new chisel, I need a new methodology!

A cursory glance tells me this, though:
You worry too much. A style is not nearly as important to an artist as being good. Jack-of-all-trades. Honestly, I don’t see why you should stop at inking - your colored work is wonderful, and, while I understand that inking is normally an inbetween from sketch to coloration, I still wouldn’t focus your attention on every nagging detail. “These things seem to work themselves out.” as one might say. If you want me to speak of your inked-as-finished pieces, I always think that “reflection” is the better part of battle. If the inking suits the ‘tone’ of the piece (heavy, thick lines for heavy, thick men and light, airy lines for light, airhea–... you get the point) then it doesn’t matter if you’re inconsistent with regards style, as you will be more often ‘consistently good.’
