I never have high hopes for video game movies. To date, I have yet to be impressed, only massively let down.

So no, not excited. I'll probably still go see it, but only out of morbid curiosity.

Hey, have you seen Prometheus? The character Charlie Holloway played by actor Logan Marshall-Green might actually have a potential to be a Commander John Shepard in a live action Mass Effect. If the guy got rid of his ebonics hotshot pretty-boy attitude, and became trained at delivering his speech firmly, then he may be an ideal default, aero-buzzcut Shepard John.

No, we won't see. Shepard is a woman in my canon play, having a canon movie about manshep who will inevitably get it on with Liara will ruin everything about my Shepard.

Its not a matter of can or cant, because the movie is happening so it IS being done.

HOWEVER, i do agree that since its not going to match our canon, its going to be VERY awkward and it will feel unnecessary....(why make a movie???)

My canon will be very different than the movie's and honestly I don't think it will deliver after remembering this "canon" dilemma.

Pretty much that, though considering how much they wanted to take Shepard out of your hands in ME3 its not really that surprising.

I liked the first idea they had, where it wasn't based on the game but the ME universe. This would be the straw the broke the camels back, so to speak. The would be taking your idea of Shepard and throwing it out the window, then using their idea of who Shepard should be -_-

NOT the first contact war. Turians only means nothing but gung-ho go go Humanity bullshit where we're constantly killed on screen over and over again in some pretty terrible ways. To be Mass Effect they really need to show off the universe, not just turians. And the only reason I back that specific idea is because.. we'd get killed left right and center

True, I didn't think about that. If it was just the contact war it would only be about humans and turians, and the gore factor would be fairly high because it is a war. They also have to take it as far away from Shepard as they possibly can.


Probably the best direction would be for them to do a movie set before the ME game, such as before the first contact or some time after. Either way it should be way before we run into Shepard. If they went for after the first contact, then they would have a good 30 year time stretch to work work.
