Dear outspoken bigots...

I'm sorry you don't like our parades...Next time we'll just put on a nice tie, pair up in twos, and come to your house to change your views. I'm sure that's more up your alley.
I'm also sorry to hear that you disagree with the use of university funds to pay for a new LGBT culture minor at UL. I agree that we should focus on concentrations that promote job creation and lucrative careers. We could save a lot of money by cutting out those liberal arts and religious studies classes as well.
And finally, I understand why you wouldn't want any homosexuals in your Boy Scouts group. After all, it's usually openly gay men who molest children, never married clergymen and coaches or attractive older females like school teachers. Not to mention children must be taught early on to dislike those who are different. Heaven forbid they grow up to have a dangerously open and accepting view of the world.
Before you flame me, I'm religious. I believe in God and Christ, and my sister is a devout mormon currently on her mission, meaning she's somewhere knocking on people's doors to try to bring them happiness. She's also the only one in my family who asked my BF's name as her first question when I came out.
Religion is not evil, hate and intolerance in the name of religion is evil. Coercion with the fear of damnation is evil.

Can't say I'm religious in that sense, as I'm more of a shaman and paganistic and believe in more of a Mother Nature and a goddess and more like what the native americans believed. Thinking that any belief gives anyone the right to just treat another fellow human being like dirt is beyond me. Everyone is of spirit and travels together in this world.

CHARLENE: I don't know. I guess I figured I couldn't make saint. Anyway, my point is, I had that dream because no one told me I couldn't. But what about all those other little girls out there, hundreds of them, just waiting to become ministers and spend their lives preaching God's word -- except for the fact that you and a bunch of other people got together and decided that God doesn't want that. That just doesn't make any sense, Reverend Nunn. I mean, for what possible reason would God not want that?
REVEREND NUNN: That's not for us to say, Charlene. I don't think we should question his wisdom.
CHARLENE: I'm not. I'm questioning yours.
