Victoria has secured the services of former Green Bay Thunder captain Alfonz Jakopin via free agency on a one-season contract. The Totems had hoped that the sole defender left in the draft pool would be available, and graciously snapped him up as their third defender.

Jakopin arrives with notable street cred, posting 9 goals and 6 assists in 12 games last season and is likely to be used in attacking power play situations.

Victoria would also like to thank longtime Totem starters Bedtime Bear and Kurt Weaver for their services to the hockey club last season. Bedtime Bear was selected in the third round by Erie and Kurt Weaver will join Helena. We wish them all the best.
