Concerning your commissions:
I'm packing up my life to move today. Will be payin' rent, loans, debts, and drawin' some furries. Still need to buy a printer/scanner. I will lack the means to reliably start my regular-income job and upload my commissions here until I have regular access to the internet at home. Please be patient with me during this transition, and feel free to check the updated commission queue linked at the top of this journal.
Concerning my personal life:
I'm feeling pretty under the weather. For the first time I'm moving away from all of my friends and living alone. My fiancée and her family are only a twenty minute drive away, but I'm trading that in to change every other relationship in my life to a long-distance one. In truth, all the cross-cultural navigating I've had to do in the marriage process has been difficult. It wasn't always enjoyable, fair, or easily, but my dowry is just about completed and I couldn't have done it without my friends on Fur Affinity or the new friends I made at Anthrocon. It's kind of screwed up to think I'm buying a woman with money I made drawing furries, but at least I can say I live an exciting life, and I cannot remember the last time I was bored, literally.
Concerning that videogame I'm AD-ing:
I was able to bring all the artists on the same page. In the meantime, I'm just waiting on all our potential investors to get back from vacation.
We are what we pretend to be, so we must be careful about what we pretend to be.

I personally think it's great that you're doing what you feel is "responsible". We all do things we don't like, that irritate or annoy us, but there often a very good underlying meaning as to why we do them.
Moving away from friends is hard, but those bonds are forged, sealed and will remain. Think of this as a chance to make friends anew if you can, for you really never know what kind of people you'll add to your life.
Lastly, it's not screwed up. You made money doing something you ENJOY, something you're proud of and that other people are proud to see you do.
Never, ever think of it that way.
Best wishes,
Insouciance.
Glad to hear your dowry is almost complete, I can't even begin to imagine how hard you've worked to build it. And not being bored is always a plus. After all there's a difference between having downtime and being bored. I hope you'll give yourself time to adjust to living away from family and friends. They're not gone, just a bit farther away. And there are many more people out there who you'll make fast and steady friends with. Plus having your fiancée 20 minutes away is good. Because it's you, I'm sure you'll do a great job. You handled Anthrocon well, and this is just another grand adventure along the path of life.
Hearing bits and pieces of you art directing makes me really interested in the job of art direction. Especially after seeing an interview with Jen Zee the art director of Bastion.
Take care Stigmata, remember, one day at a time, one thing at a time.
I kid, it's not that bad. I hope it works out OK for you - moving is always a bitch. And a dowry? That sounds exciting and exotic (although I'm guessing it's a lot less so than it sounds). Keep us posted!
Good luck with everything =]
Keep pushing, Stigmata. :D
You have been good to us. Your life seems like an incredible journey that hasn't ever truly stopped. It will be turbulent, but I have a feeling you'll be able to push through these obstacles by one mean or another. You have choices, and that freedom is very powerful if utilized to its fullest potential.
I'm glad you still keep in touch. I wonder if this semi-clean slate after you move will provide you more openings for new friends or old ones to get closer to you in ways you wouldn't pleasantly expect!
