I took a big step this evening...

Tonight I saw my dad for the first time in over 10 years.
The last time I saw him was my HS graduation in 2000. Long story short, we didn't part ways on good terms.
Recently, he got remarried to this lovely woman who out of no where decided she wanted to contact the her new step daughter (me)
and invited me to attend my dad's birthday dinner.
I decided to bite the bullet and go for it, if anything for some closure and personal growth. Between that and getting on a plane for the first time, that's like 2 fears I've nicked in one month... I think I might be on a role.
Anyway, the dinner turned out great and I really think my dad has changed and I think he wants to make things right. Right now I'm feeling very proud of myself for taking this chance. I also feel like it helped to mend allot of my emotional tears, especially that regarding men and relationships.... weather that makes sense or not.
Also double bonus I finally got to meet my nephews, Julian and Dillon and I just love them to pieces!
