For the past 6 or 7 years now, I've been going in and out of art slumps. I remember years ago, when I would consistently be inspired and couldn't go a day without the urge to create or draw. But in recent years that feeling has been dimming gradually and has neared the point where I would eventually ask my self, "what's the point?" I've hit a block!

Recently I made a realization, and I can't believe that I've never considered this before! Since 1999 I haven't been active in any medium aside from CG coloring! My pics always start out hand drawn, but anything else after that would be done on my tablet and paint software. Due to this, I feel like maybe I've lost complete sight of the rewarding feeling of completing a fully traditional, hand drawn, colored picture. So, I decided to take a break from digital art and take some time to rediscover traditional mediums, such as prismacolor pencils and experiment with tools I've rarely used like, acrylic paints and so on. I really feel like this might do the trick! In addition, I'll be using this traditional medium practice to focus on background studies and still lives possibly some impressionism, aside from my usual character art.
