Weekly Mixtape 1
So, my big thing in life is music. I play, write, record, and listen to music ALL the time. I figured maybe I could both share that passion here on FA and revive a dying art form all at the same time. For all you kids who never had to use a cassette to listen to your favorite stuff, a mixtape is basically a mash of a few unrelated songs that kind of maybe go together, or at least that's my interpretation. So every week I'm gonna give you 5 or 6 songs to listen to, and, knowing my taste in music, you'll hate all of them. SO HERE WE GO!!!
1. New Order - Dreams Never End (Movement, 1981) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zrh5kaWfyMQ
2. The Jam - All Mod Cons (All Mod Cons, 1978) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TUYbM6KiFB8
3. Minutemen - I Felt Like A Gringo (Buzz or Howl Under Influence of Heat, 1983) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jGFsOqB60Rw
4. Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet - Bennett Cerf (Savvy Show Stoppers, 1988) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZBCYSwTWCiM
5. The Clash - London Calling (London Calling, 1979) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4vHvzybkqfo
6. Fugazi - Merchandise (Repeater, 1990) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s1XDr2M91ZM
Ah the beauty of the mix tape. What we have here is 3 British Track 1's. (funny how that worked out) mixed with two American political punk type deals, and an instrumental Canadian band.
