Hey guys, hope you are all doing well this week!
After months and months of applying for places and consistently getting rejected because of my age, lack of credit, lack of rental history and job history (since I've got my own business to take care of) I JUST finally signed my very first lease, and the deposit and first month's rent together make a total of $800 ($400 each), which I have to pay by the first of September. For those who have followed my journals for the past couple years, you know all the ridiculous crap I've been through with roommates and how it's stunted my focus and productivity for so long. Well, that's about to finally come to an end. And I can say that with confidence.
I cannot express how utterly excited I am to finally have my freedom back. I haven't had my own room or my own desk in months, and I'm about to get all the privacy and comfortability I've been desperately striving for, and I can't wait to have my own environment to focus and not get the butt-end of mindless drama from people who are kind enough to let me live with them (even though I've always paid at LEAST my half of everything, and most times had to pay for everyone else's shortcomings). There's a lot I haven't mentioned about my situations the past few months, simply because I don't want to seem like I'm trying to put people on guilt-trips to help me out or whatever. I've kept my mouth mostly shut, and thankfully that isn't going to matter anymore!
I really don't want to open any more commissions, but this is my one chance to have my sanity back. This is my only chance to be able to concentrate and be able to finish work exponentially faster than I have been for so long. Imagine trying to work in a 300 sq. ft. house with no separate rooms and a roommate who invites friends over every day, and they all want to see your latest artwork and they ask you questions and talk all day, constantly trying to get your attention. I'm sorry, I don't "chill" for a living like some people do. I love art, and I love doing art for people. I'm a very focused person who likes to stay on schedule with things so that I can have some free time at the end of the day. But because of the situation I've been in, I haven't had a day off in months, and I work every single day. My commissions these days are a lot bigger and more detailed, so they take a lot longer than they used to. One $135 commission usually takes 2-3 days minimum.

In any case, I hope you all understand where I'm coming from. This next batch of commissions I'm about to open will be started around mid-September, so they will have to wait a bit. I can certainly get most of the preliminary sketches done before that time, though! I've got enough money to feed myself and pay smaller bills for now, so all I need is the money to move into my place. I've already signed the lease, and all I have left is to pay the deposit and first month's rent, which are $800 total as I previously mentioned.
So, I'm thinking of taking some sketches, colored sketches, and colored fullbody commissions. However, the only tradeoff is that these have to be paid in full upfront. I don't normally do this, but this is a very unique situation that won't happen again. I apologize!

HI-RES SKETCHES AND COLORED SKETCHES
There are two types: bust portraits and fullbodies.
Sketch fullbodies are $50, and colored they are $85.
Sketch busts are $20, and colored they are $50.

- Solo character only!
- around 11 inches, aspect ratio/size is up to you, 300 DPI (high-resolution)
- I can do any gender, any body type, and any species. (Although, I must admit that I prefer males; nobody ever commissions me males anymore! sob)
HQ COLORED FULLBODIES - $135
- around 11 inches, aspect ratio/size is up to you, 300 DPI (high-resolution)
- Solo fullbody, includes a minor background (one prop, like a couch, is okay)
- Every extra character is $50
- I can do any gender, any body type, and any species. (Although, I must admit that I prefer males; nobody ever commissions me males anymore! sob)

also, i am so glad to finally hear this. i vaguely remember the mess you were putting up with from a while back. being independent of other people in my home has been the best thing that has EVER happened to me. i very much doubt i could ever really live with anyone again....my boyfriend intends to challenge this but i know i can just beat him up (only cause he'd let me ;o;) if he gets out of line XD
hahaha, how cute! Yeah, I honestly think everyone deserves to have their own private space. Alone time is really important to have!
