Hahaha my Parents are watching Full Metal Alchemist

I got my parents to watch Full Metal Alchemist and thus far they REALLY like it.
I started them off on episode three since that is technically the real begining in the series. Right now they just finished watching the alchemist exam and they are right before they see Scar and the Tucker episode (the first really sad part)

musiclover loves the most are the anime eyes. She's always talking about how much she likes them hahaha
Anyway don't spoil anything for them, but I have a question.
Should they be watching the original or Brotherhood? I started them off on original just to see how it went but now that i think about it (as far as the endings and the whole grand scheme of things) I'm thinking brotherhood would be best. What do you guys think?

^u^ I think they should watch the original, because it was open to a wider audience. But the ending is...er. I for one lost interest in Brotherhood, though. But I consider the original a good anime family drama.

Brotherhood follows more of the manga, I never really got into the original..

That... is really funny. i have only watched a few episodes of the original, and I think that is a good way to start

I'd start with the original myself, just to see how it goes at least! Once they've seen what they like of that...then I'd broach the idea of seeing the one that went more originally to the manga, so they can see how the maker of it originally wanted it to be.

Full Metal Alchemist BROTHERHOOD is actually based off the manga. After a certain amount of time the story splits and the original goes into the real world into like WW2 or something. (i have no idea why) and Brotherhood goes by the original manga story. :3

yeah i tried at many times to rewatch it (but i has no cable or net at my place lol) and mom keeps calling it "Cartoons with blood"
