Wow, that's all kinds of fucked up. Sounds like that old Exodus thing that tried to make gay people straight by convincing them that they're sinning and shit.

Yeah it's pretty disgusting. I can't understand why anyone would take on these classes. Still, it's not a fate worse than with russians killing gay people for the very fact they are.

What with stoning and chemical castration being tossed out the window, I suppose they did have to come up with some new, delightfully batsh*t way of retraining us to be normals.

It's pretty sick what they're doing. I won't hold it against anyone who really takes this choice, but I can't imagine anyone would want to.

I can. What if they are going to be killed if they don't? Is fear for one's survival a good enough reason for wanting to try and be heterosexual? Or what if they're raised in a culture where it's wrong to engage in sexual or romantic relationships with the same gender? Indeed, some parts of the Western world still have this as part of their culture. But before you get up-in-arms, think about what's still unacceptable in our culture, or even many cultures. Are a brother and sister allowed to marry each other? Two cousins? Regardless of gender? Are you allowed to have sex with animals? And then there's the legal age of marriage, the age of consent, statutory rape and all that. There is a lot that is still unacceptable to many societies.

Think about it like this. If you were head-over-heels in love with your sister, what would you do? Even if the feeling was mutual, where could you go that such a relationship would be acceptable? I'm pretty sure most states in the U.S. aren't OK with that. You know that it's wrong to be attracted to your sister. Why? Because your culture says it's wrong. What do you do with these feelings that you can't control? You can't just date another girl or guy outside your family because they aren't your sister. How fucked up would you feel if that was your lot in life? Would you try and fix it or live the rest of your lives lying to everyone around you?

If there's something I wanted, then I'd rather live it out lying if that's what it comes to. At the end of the day, who cares who's offended because it goes against their culture? There's many things than just love and marriage that can't go cross-cultures anyway, just look at the news. It's like the cultures in favour of "allah" that think bacon is sinful yet the rest of us still eat it, regardless if it offends them.

You actually can stop being gay. And you can actually stop being straight. Your brain will go along with it. It's very, very uncommon, but it's 100% possible, and it's happened before.

The human mind is one bizarre contraption, you see. :P
