It's not because of the gay art. It was just the first link I had to hand. I commented on one of Scott Ruggles' journals that we can expect to see a dead celebrity picture from Groat very soon (it was nearly four hours, he's usually faster than that), and Jim suddenly asked if I'd start calling him a nazi and try and get him banned. The implication was that I'd done this before, which I have not. I'd have replied there, but Jim replied to my post then blocked me, most impolite.

I cannot recall you calling anyone a nazi, except maybe the Democratic Socialist Party of 1940's era Germany...

You are aware of the fact that there was never a Democratic Socialist Party of germany. Maybe you are talking about the Social Democratic Party of Germany, those were no part of the National Socialist Party, nor a right wing party. They were and still are a left Wing Party and have fought the NSDAP until the Party was banned in 1933. Its members were hunted and inprisoned. Countless of them died in the Camps and many fled the country.

They opposed both the commies and nazis, and if they were anything, then more leftist than right wing. Not that there probably weren't some conservative elements among their ranks, sure, but those were outweighed and are still outweighed by the moderate and leftist members.

I'm reminded of the P J O'Rourke line about how it used to bother him when Democrats called him a Nazi, but that it stopped bothering him when it occurred to him that no one has ever had a secret fantasy about being tied to the bed and ravished by someone dressed as a liberal.
