Cigarettes vs. E-cigs! What's your opinion?

Keep this very neutral please!
We at cancersticks love to see calm, fun chats with our furs and supporters! So what's your input on e-cigarettes? Standard tobacco? Do e-cigs help furs who are trying to quit? What are some tips on quitting?
We all know they have pro's and con's on health, but that's besides the point!

I used E-cigs for a while to quit, but since I have such, what's called an "oral fixation" on cigarettes it was very hard and an unsatisfactory product to me. Maybe if the smoke-juice replicated aged tobacco that would work WONDERS for me!
i would just as rather get on the patch or gum or even continue smoking before i used E-cigs reguarly
Vaping provides a very efficient analogue to most tobacco products, when you have a good setup, in my opinion. A lot of the truck-stop variety stuff and the "cigarette look and feel analogues" generally have a lot of problems (I've not seen any that were worthwhile). One of the better starter units is the Joyetech eGo (make sure you get a real one and not a knockoff), but definitely be picky about where you get your eJuice from. If you like tobacco, try Vapor Station's RY4, its basically a tobacco and spun sugar mix that's quite tasty. In my opinion, it does make a good analogue for real tobacco. Make sure you have a good mod to hit it with.
As far as throat hit and coughing, that's generally the mix on the eJuice. Good quality eJuice is vegetable glycerin, propylene glycol, nicotine, flavors, and NOTHING ELSE. A lot of your Chinese websites and even some American ones put a bunch of other stuff that has no place in eJuice (there are a few exceptions though, I'm mostly talking about synthetic preservatives and filler agents). On that regard, the higher the PG to VG ratio (i.e. more PG) the more of a throat hit its going to have, same goes for nic level. You might want to start with a 50/50 PG/VG mix on 6-12mg of nic and see where that takes you.
Also, serious warning here, when dealing with eJuice, avoid the cream flavors or any other flavor that has "custard notes". These notes are produced by a buttery compound called "diacetyl" (and also acetoin is another, there's one more I believe) which is probably worse than anything you'll run into in a cigarette. Diacetyl, inhaled chronically, causes a condition called "popcorn workers lung", wherein basically the compound causes a buildup of scar tissue along the inside of your lungs, to which there is no recovery. The only known way to treat this is a lung transplant. Its called popcorn worker's lung because it was first encountered by people who worked in factories that made microwave popcorn, wherein the fake butter substance was diacetyl. You can achieve this same effect breathing in the smell of microwave popcorn in large amounts. Make sure your eJuice provider knows what the heck they're doing. If in doubt, ask. If they can't answer, find another eJuice provider.
I've heard quite a few success stories with eCigs, though. Helping a coworker and a contractor both get off of full-time smoking and onto vaping and they seem to be having great success with it. It really requires a resolution to quit to go full on the vaping. There are a bunch of success stories littering ECF, and I know one guy personally, and of a couple more that have been off cigs for a few years now. Me personally, I vape a majority of the time but every so often I just want real tobacco. Less to do with the eCig not tasting like tobacco and more to do with "I just want a cigar right now" or similar.
Good luck :3
