14 days without a break? Thats...illegal in most countries. I think the US has a law saying that you can onl work 6 days a week in a row before they are REQUIRED to give you a break, but that you can voluntarily come in iirc. Might wanna talk to the manager about that. or OSHA.

I came in voluntartily once.. hehe. Which was my fault.. then they said there'd be an extra day off this week.. whihc.. hasn't come yet x.x .... I really don't mind.. but it's just long hours and crap.

Really, in the end, I'm pissed off at the other coworkers who miss thier shfits and make everyone else (Read: ME) Pick up the slack. i kind of have to come in too, since i'mthe only one willing unless I want tohers to suffer... which I won't do to my friends. I'm merely ranting in this little journal, as well ^/_\^

Yeah, I have that too at the ShopKo home entertainment department. I tend to work more hours the the SPECIALIST, and bust my ass to give great customer service, and do work when its necessary. Hell, I help with carry outs (hate at furniture and 32" tube TVs...). Two of the four "primary" HE people con stantly miss shifts for whatever reason, and guess who they try to call to get to cover? One of the benefits of Dial Up. Ties the phone line so I can't be pestererd XD

Been wondering about that myself, family member of mine works for a hospital in oregon and she's had to work 12-18 hour stretches on occassion, not something I like to see given her physical condition and the fact the rest of her staff whines and bitches about having to do anything more than part time. But I hear ya there BP, at least you'll have the paycheck to look forward to if nothing else.

I thought, at least around here, it was still illegal even if you volunteered to come in because your performance suffers over extended days of working... if they work you more than 12 days you -have- to get two consecutive days off.

acutally it may be for every 40 hours straight you work you get two days off... I don't know I'll have to check.

If anything makle a complaint and keep on it. If you're in charge fire them. I'm sure someone will want to work.
