How come a lot of old people think they are entitled to respect no matter *how* shitty they treat YOU???
I'm at Best Buy today looking at birthday presents for my man and as I'm talking to a clerk, an old man bumps me out of the way with his shoulder (even though there's PLENTY of room to move around on his other side). I kinda looking at him expecting an 'excuse me', or 'I'm sorry', but instead I get a 'You young kids think you can look at an old person any way you like!' I was speechless! That isn't the first time I have had an experience like that. Who knows--maybe it's just Kokomo.
My personal philosophy is 'You got my respect until you lose it, when you lose it you have to earn it back, once you earn it back you can keep it, if you keep it you can't lose it!'
I know it's a mouthful but it works. :)

I haven't had any bad run-ins like that, but I can believe some people act that way

I think if you *believe* with all your heart that you should do a certain thing then go for it!--Just don't expect me to do the same :)
I guess my faith would be labeled Unitarian with a strong christian influence.
It seems, now I could be wrong, but it seems that, with the way the economy is going, everyone is getting rude, and rushed, and bothered by something, and it's effecting them and the people around them. You might be in a negitive area like I was.
I'll keep you in my thoughts and hopifully things get better for you. I'm hoping things get better for me, lord knows I needs some good news in my life. *hugs*
