If the computer hit with a virus doesn't already have it, then I suggest you get Avast. Even the free version should eliminate the problem.

Thanks! I'll tell my hubby. Looks like it's not a virus, but a hardware melt down. Turns out it was a refurbished machine, but since it was a gift from a generous friend and it lasted two years, I can't complain. Still, it's happened at a bad time and is very frustrating.
