Religion & Science

Do you think its possible for religion and science to coexist? That is to say, is it possible to believe in God and still accept scientific theories such has evolution?
This is something I have been wondering since my step-dad said he didn't think it was possible. To me that seems pretty ignorant, seeing has his wife and his son (me) both consider ourselves to be Catholic but still believe in scientific theories. I just was wondering what other people thought

I don't really think so. It's pretty clear that in the Bible the world was made in 7 days and God created all beings, including humans. If you choose to not to believe that base on other evidence then that shows that there are inaccuracies in the Bible. There are other events that also defy scientific research. I understand that scientific theories and research can also be inaccurate or just plain dead wrong. We believe at a time that the Earth was flat and would fall off if we reached the edge. But that is a luxury of science, we can say okay that is wrong and this is how really it is. You can't really claim that a infallible being is wrong, cause he/she is never wrong.
