Are we really that good at being unseen?

Greetings, foxes!
Hello, everyfuzz else!
Things suddenly got quiet around here; I hope the reason for this is the beginning of new school semester, not people being afraid of the fox temporarily left in charge. :)
It's been a while since our last journal, so it's time to post a new, if a bit long, question to the mix:
Why do you think cross foxes are so unknown in popular culture and rarely seen in the fandom, despite being more common in the wild than well-known silver foxes are?
Please post your guesses and theories!
Of course, older topics are still fair game - just check our journals list for more! :)
Thanks for reading, and see you in the next episode!

Why is that?
Well, maybe part of it is that we're red enough to not be noticed as something different at just a glance from distance.
Maybe part of it is that while all of silvers, reds, and platinums are farmed for fur, crosses are not (I hope...?).
I don't know, and I don't really have any good guess either.
Said that... I honestly like it this way. ^^;
