Oh no, a flea :(

For those of you who don't know, I'm OCD. Being that, I have trouble relaxing if things aren't clean.
This morning, a flea was found on one of the ferrets. Just one. The ferrets are never let outdoors. I'm really hoping it was just a stray flea that found its way inside.
The ferrets were given baths, and I caught and killed the flea. No others were seen so far. Just to be safe, all the fabrics in their cage were put through the wash.
Still paranoid and worried, though.

You did exactly the right things, though. Just keep a close watch on the critters, and if any more fleas appear, then seriously consider investing in some flea dip (which kills not just the fleas, but their eggs).
Indeed, it may be a good idea to vacuum it anyway, especially around the cages.
And on one other note, I do hope I get to hug your ferrets some day! I like me some friendly tube rats.
I eventually lured it out (using myself as bait) it and killed it. With extreme prejudice. c.c I think it was just the one flea because after that there were no further problems.
Then there was the time in college where a Freshman brought a flea-infested blanket from home and the whole dorm building had to be sprayed... x.x
