Many annoyances...
In the past few months since my last entry a few things have happened that have just made me all the more annoyed with things.
In the last month (now a little more I guess) I lost my job due to simply not coming in on a day I had off and refusing to sign a write-up for that very reason. I was not about to acknowledge a write-up over something so trivial that they could of easily found someone else. So what if I had been a manager, had they given me advanced notice I would of come in, but they call me an hour or so into the shift already and simply ask "Where are you?" like I was scheduled to work that day which I checked to see I was in fact not. So the store manager and district manager basically wanted to get rid of me. I noticed the store manager skimming physically worked hours off several people's paychecks, including my own. So I'm seeking legal action over this, plus over the fact that they are refusing to pay me for time off due to a work-related injury, a concussion I suffered while working there.
Shortly before that happened I happened to buy a Nook Tablet, however in my excitement to see it I opened the book right before I went into Costco with my mother and saw that they had a Samsung Galaxy Tab II for sale, which was like $50 - $100 cheaper than Best Buy was selling it when I looked last. I decided I'd buy that, but had to check to see if I could return the Nook Tablet, so I called the Books-a-Million I bought it from asking if it was returnable, but due to it being opened it was not. So I grabbed the Samsung Galaxy Tab II and turned to my mom and went "Happy merry early christmas" or something to that accord and gave it to her. I then proceeded to the register with the empty box to redeem the actual tablet afterwards but found out they do not accept credit cards, only cash, debit, or American Express. I was quite furious as I had next to nothing in my bank account from purchasing the Nook Tablet moments earlier so my mom ended up buying it for me. I had every intention of paying her back too but after loosing my job it doesn't look like I'll be able to do that anytime soon. Costco should have some sign that says out front before you even walk in that they do not take any other credit card aside from American Express so people don't waste their time.
My desk chair recently broke and has me constantly leaning to the right, which is quite uncomfortable. So I have to buy a new one with the little bit of funds I have now, otherwise I won't be able to do much here. On top of that I helped my brother out, who's also currently unemployed by paying for his reserve of Borderlands II on Amazon since I at least have some available money on my credit card. However it was sent through FedEx Smartpost and I saw that it said "Delivered" under delivery status. I began to freak out cause I didn't see the package anywhere and called FedEx, but they don't actually deliver it. With the SmartPost they give it to the United States Postal Service (USPS) and they deliver it. So, I called them after seeing on their site that delivery had in fact failed. I had to go through two, very annoying computer-ized voices to try and direct me to the correct information with both FedEx and USPS which I absolutely hate. I found myself yelling into the phone at the computer-ized voice "GIVE ME A REPRESENTATIVE!!" When I finally got someone to talk to on the USPS end they mentioned that with failed deliveries they return them back to the sender, and with my experience with Amazon in the past they begin to process as a return; I didn't want that at all. So I asked what branch it was at, and what time they open the next day since they were obviously closed at this hour (I called only an hour ago which I live in the Eastern Time Zone = EST). and found out it was at the local branch and I will have to go there at 9 in the morning to get the package before they try and sending it back to the original sender.
I had to help my brother with another slightly annoying thing. He had also reserved Assassin's Creed at one of the Best Buy's near us, which took a while to find out which one. It turns out they apparently only recently began offering Collector's Editions (CE) since he reserved it, which to me is odd but I told him before hand that there would surely be a CE to the game. So I went to simply try and change his regular edition reserve to a CE of the game, but they have to cancel one and they buy the other one. Since I didn't have my brother's receipt I couldn't cancel it but instead ended up paying for yet another reserve for him.
On a lighter note, my mom loves the Nook Tablet I ended up giving her anyway (despite being unable to pay her back for the Samsung Galaxy Tab II as of yet) and has purchased many books on it to read already. I also got my Step-Dad onto the same Sprint contract (which he pays me for his portion of it and he paid for his phone) and he picked a smartphone having said before that he thought they were stupid and phones should only be for making and receiving calls. However it seems I've 'corrupted' both of my parents with modern technology more so my step-dad. I almost forgot that shortly before Father's Day I had bought him an XBox 360 so he wouldn't have to borrow mine to play the games we got him before. He plays that thing almost every day now...heh.
I'm currently taking physical therapy through my lawyer's suggestion with the whole Worker's Compensation case that I'm going through so I can't wait to see my previous employer's reaction when I sue them...
Well I can't think of anything else that has happened in the last few months, so I'll close it here...until next time...and sorry for all the 'ranting' in this one...if it can be considered that.
