Eternal Champions: Challenge from the Dark Side
17 years ago
So I've taken a short break from writing stories to get back to my hobby of writing fighting game FAQs. I still have two more parts of Brian's side story and a special story for a friend in the works.
I recently got the rom for Eternal Champions for K Fusion. It had been so long since I played it...talk about bringing back memories. I thought, what the hell, I'll write an FAQ for it, considering the two on gamefaqs are kind of lacking in the movelist department.
After playing it for a bit, there are definitely some funny things I've come across. Certain characters have longer hit stuns than others. The way the game is set up, you can move in directly after striking the opponent with a weak punch. Characters like Shadow are infinite bait. Just LP, move in, LP, move in, etc....Game Over. Kinda of funny. Also, there are some weird glitches where certain moves will refuse to connect in certain situations, and other moves becoming unblockable at certain distances.
Despite the gameplay flaws, it still manages to have its own charm. The stage backgrounds are excellently designed, and the overkills/sudden deaths (stage fatalities) completely crush anything you'd see in MK. I do admit, I'm having fun picking the game apart.
So a question to my readers....any fond memories of this game as a kid? Or how about other bloody fighters like Primal Rage and Mortal Kombat? I'd love to hear them.
