If anyone's curious about the background regarding Living Machinery, it's an RPverse that my boyfriend and I have going. I couldn't find a way to feed it into the story itself without going into a lot of pointless exposition, so I'm putting it in my journal.

Basically, our RPverse consists of your typical universe, plus an 'underworld'- the technical equivalent of hell, but not exactly that. It's a realm that links all the worlds in which sentient life has developed. The realm's inhabitants are demons, but not your traditional sort- myth and mythology have warped them a little. For the most part, they're actually fairly benevolent beings. They push developing worlds along, help them shape their civilisation and technology, etcetera. Zavad is one such being.

These 'demons' are fairly open about their sexuality and sex and whatnot. There are a few that are different, as with any group, but for the most part they're the good guys. Some of them do occasionally get a bit misguided, though. That's when other demons bring them back in line.

Usually with sex.
