Ponce Thinks About Stuff In Journal Form (comic reboot?)
13 years ago
¡Hola!
Gosh it has been a while since I've written a journal here thinking about things. I've been thinking a lot about my on hiatus comic, "Regressive Tendencies" for a while and there's no escaping it that I just don't have the motivation to continue with it in its current form.
All the recent pictures I've been doing of Kammy being well...Kammy have made me really happy. And I wasn't sure why till just now. Kammy is a known quantity. Everyone knows her personality and her attitude and motivation because I and others have done so many pieces of art on her she needs no explanation. She's just Kammy and I can show her being Kammy and no one needs an explanation.
The comic I made was originally a lead in to a group commission that spawned a continuity that I just kind of kept going but with no clear goal of where it was headed, eventually it became agonizing for me to figure out what I wanted to do with it. I had an idea of where I wanted the comic to go, but I didn't want to take the time to draw out every last frame to explain how we got "there", I just wanted to be "there". Does that make sense?
Basically what I want my comic to be like is these little snippets of Kammy being Kammy...because drawing that is fun for me. So I think what I'm saying is that I want to "reboot" Regressive Tendencies to be a comic series kind of like Peanuts. There is a cast of characters, each with their own personality everyone knows, but each comic doesn't necessarily follow a timeline...
I'm not sure if anyone is interested in reading such a comic, and I am sure some people who were featured in Regressive Tendencies will be upset I'm dropping the continuity they were featured in, but I feel I need to do something that is going to make me most happy rather than do something that feels like a chore.
So I think my next step is to make a list of characters with their back stories and then get off the ground running writing my little slice of life joke comics. I hope to get that done in the next few weeks, and I hope many of you my watchers will enjoy what I produce.
On the topic of cameos... I haven't made up my mind or not if I should offer paid cameos or if that is just. greedy greedy evil wrong idea. But you know...gotta keep the lights on ^_^;
Comments? Questions? Concerns? Suggestions? All welcomed :3

As for cameos, I like the idea of picking people at random instead of having them pay.
If you end up doing short one page or one strip comics of Kammy and Friends then great. :p
A lot of people will read it and be overwhelmed by the sheer amount of "Daaaw!" :p
Basically I'm saying do what you want, it's fine :)
