Well we are almost into the month of October, it may just seem like another month with halloween at the end of it, but for me and my family, weve already started making preperations for the big day. You see, it all started back in i believe 94, where my parents started putting up halloween decorations. Now, since my parents perticularly my mother has grown a high interest into it because she gets to use her artistic skills and my fathers engineering skills. We have over 500 people tricker-treaters or just viewers come to our house on the corner of the street to see our display. Weve spent years working and improving our cemetary (the main theme) to what it is today. Weve made over 75 tombstones (styrafoam but looks very realistic) a pvc fence made to look cast iron, flying ghosts, a witches den which we transformed our garage to an actual walkin display, grave popper with full animatronics, a ghost/zombie thingamajigger that looks like its passing through a wall with moving head and arms (looks badass by the way) a bleeding tombstone even, and my personal favorite which took us two months to create is our life sized handmade coffin with a body inside that flings open the coffin door and pops out. This may not seem like alot but with hundreds of other little add-ons it all fits together for the best night of the year for my family. Whats funny is we have a tradition within a tradition, we do the halloween thing yes, but what we do is create something new every year and people have realized this, last year was the fully improved witches den. Sadly though due to both my parents having medical issues and cant work to the amount they want to, its time for me and my carpentry skills to step in and boy am i in for it. I have been given the challange to create a fully animatronic wolfman that looks like it is coming out of shed, its going to have a moving jaw, a moving head, and moving arms in a slashing movement, and i have to start tomorrow. I can say this is going to be one of the best halloweens ever, its just i hate having to start so early! wish me luck guys.
