So, what other archaelogical stuff interests you besides Egypt?

Norse mythology has some appeal to me. Not too familiar with the Aztecs, incas, or Mayans, though.

I would like to think of an underused mythology to research for potential story ideas. Norse has been overdone, as has the Egyptian "setting".

To tell the truth I'm actually not much into egyptian archaeology. I like its mithology but I wouldn't say it's my fav one. I have a degree in archaeology of pre-roman Italy, and I love anything that spans beetween the neolithic and early iron age, I'd love to study the protohistory of near and middle east, though unfortunatly my university hasn't any good class on that topic, most of my preparation is about mediterranean archaeology, focusing on the north side of the mediterranean.
If I was to suggest a not that reknown mithology in which to search some story ideas I'd suggest checking Assyrian and Median culture, both of which I find fascinating.

Whoops. I should have clarified about the Egyptian archaeology and mythology thing. I guess I assumed that based on the anubis comic and you going to a dig, that you liked both.

Thanks for the advice on the cultures. I had heard of Assyria (though I know little of them), but I was unaware of the Medes. Thanks!
