Sweden's very own furcon! ^.^
Your top story tonight:
I've genuinely lost count of how many times I've been to Sweden now. Either 6 or 7. I love the place. Anyway, my 7th (or 8th) visit will be a rather special one as I'm off to Sweden's first* convention, courtesy of
Nordic FuzzCon.
(*Yes, I know full well Eurofurence 2 was held in Linköping in 1996 but that doesn't count. That's a German thing and it was taking a holiday. It's never been out of Germany. Apart from the times it's been in Netherlands and Czech Republic. They don't count either. Besides, I've not heard much of it lately, I doubt it's even still going.)
Anyway, Nordic Fuzz Con is being held in Handen, in the south provinces of Stockholm and about a half-hour train from the city centre (and the hotel is opposite Handen Station, with direct trains to Stockholm Central, so no excuse!) and looks like it's got the capabilities to handle a group of fuzzies arriving on their door. I don't know how many people have registered yet, but it's set to be a small convention. Which I think is great; I like small conventions and it'll give me a chance to meet literally everybody and make a lot of new friends.
It cost me just £180 for convention entry and three nights in the hotel, and I've managed to get a return flight from Gatwick to Stockholm for £110, so all in all, less than £300 for four days in Sweden surrounded by furries. What's not to love? ^.^
If you're going to be available at the end of March 2013, have a look at coming along. Stockholm is the most beautiful city in the world and I'll be sure to head back to the city centre at least once to enjoy the scenery of just one of Stockholm's fourteen islands.
And if you do end up going, be sure to give me a shout. ^.^
Love ya,

Jeez, I can't even go to FCN for that cheap, and it's an hour and a half drive from home on the other side of the state! When the event happens, have a great time
