Movie Remakes

Hmmmm, found out there is going to be a remake of one of my favorite (see front page) movies, Andromeda Strain. Even though I am sure it will be dreadful based on the buzz I'm hearing I will watch it because I want to see the directorial difs. The original was done by Robert Wise and is a pretty good example of the time period.
I'm thinking there will be a follow on to this post a few days after I see the remake.

Is this in the form of a question because I forgot to mention the movie title the first time around? I went back and did an edit. Or is the question mark because you are unfamiliar with Fantastic Voyage (the movie not the cartoon very loosely based off the movie)?

oh sorry about that. though I never heard of the film. I could ask my old man about it since he knows way more on movies as a whole since I only know most of the film genres (i.e. exploitation). and since I looked it up, I hope my Dad has it in his collection.

Are you referring to A & E's 'Andromeda Strain'? Because as far as I know there are no plans to remake 'The Day the Earth Stood Still' or 'The Sound of Music'.

Actually, there ARE plans to remake TDTESS, with Keanu Reeves as Klaatu. BAD NEWS: He will come here to order us to be more "green" (or else!).

Gawd, the original movie is so intense I just can't watch it...it's like my more baroque nightmares.
