does anyonw know of a good camera to take pictures of paintings with? I wanted to post more than what I have up here, but the camera I have is supper crappy (eats batteries, powers down expectantly, EVERYTHING is blurry) and has now stopped working.
I plan on smashing it in the driveway when I get a new one.
suggestions on type?

I'd look into Olympus, they have alright point-n-shoots.
I'd actually stay away from Olympus (sorry Corbin, *meep*)... at least the small automatics, because the ones, we had, were pretty crappy quality, the lense would always shut when it felt like, couldn't get it to reopen. Just not a good one, maybe the higher end ones are better, *shrugs*
I'd go with Canon or just try your luck at Walmart. They have pretty good digi cams there now that are pretty cheap.... you'll just have to remember to look for the ability to use Macro (up close focusing) for your paintings. Most cameras have it now, (usually an icon that has a generic looking person with a box around them or a flower icon).
Oh, and get a mini tripod. They have them at Walmart as well for under $20. It will definitely help you with your blurry issue. I use one all the time. Just focus your painting, then set the timer on the camera and hit your shutter button to take the picture. The camera will take the photo on the tripod, without moving, and your shots are crisp and blur free. YAY!
