So, you might have noticed several of my project pics have disappeared. Mainly, this is because I've scrapped the idea of trying to build that particular helmet in metal.

To put it simply, it was going to be far too much work, all for an outcome that would not live up to my original intent. I was hoping to make a helmet sturdy enough to withstand paintball shots, and while technically the aluminum sheeting would be more resilient than cardstock, it was still going to be too thin and flimsy to take more than a couple hits. I kinda figured this out while making holes for the rivets and one slip of the drill turned the piece into a curled up ribbon.

So now I'm moving on to recycling the cardboard (uncorrogated, of course)from various boxes. And the first project I'm tackling with this will be the forearm gauntlets. I've finally got all the pieces cut out, so hopefully soon I'll get to assembling them and there will be some new pics up.
