I'm trying to follow this guys reasoning.

He's saying that because his only cost $400, why should anyone pay $1200. And because he prolly hadda save forever to get his suit, no one can afford anything more.

Because we all know, everyone should get suits cheap. Doesn't matter that some fursuit makers do that as a real full time job :P

1200 for a full fursuit noone has? I think that's relatively cheap for something of her quality very lightly used. Heck, seen old LV suits fly up to over 3,000 on EBAY, is this really unheard of? I think it's very fairly priced.

But you should understand, people will pay a lot of money for a suit eithrr because they love the makers style or how well it is built and how long it will last. Suit makers need to make a profit to. Most of the expensive ones are from makers who do it for a living. c:
And well most get 1 to 2 suits done a month. You cant live off of 400 a month. So the person you got your suit from probably had low prices to get his name out there, or has another job and has a side job making suits. :3

Ok, so you probably got it from an upcoming maker and all, good for you. Most established people won't even sell a head for that price. So are you saying that people like LV, Lacy, Midori, etc. should not charge what they charge for suits? Everyone should charge 400 or less? I'm not following. I'm always happy to pay for quality and workmanship. Sometimes you can get a deal from someone relatively new but more often techniques and workmanship can suffer.
