That's kind alot for a used, pre-made suit. You could buy a very detailed custom made from scratch for less.

Maybe from another maker, which if you want a suit from another maker than this wouldn't be of interest in the first place. Beetlecat's suits have an incredible amount of detailed work blending furs, and some of the best airbrushing I've ever seen. She also tends to only work with the highest quality furs, which cost a lot more than the usual DF fur most suit makers use. Also the suit still looks brand new, imo, unlike other used suits.

Agreed. Still looks new. Well taken care of. It may be pricey, but it's worth it.

$3000+ is a lot to ask for for a premade used fursuit HOWEVER, you should take a look at MixedCandys completed sales listings on Ebay, their suits sell for a LOT and they're all premade. Makes me feel a lil sick tbh XD. But yeah while $3000+ is a lot, its a well detailed character in "almost new" condition and has complex markings.

Not really. I compared this to the price of a brand new custom suit by  media, who charges about $2500 to $3k for a NEW suit, and is one of the best suitmakers out there.

Despite BC's skill, this is a USED suit. Say you got a Hyundai Genesis. Amazing car! You buy it NEW for $40k. Drive it around for a YEAR, sweat in it, knock it around and put about 30k miles on it. NO ONE is gonna buy that car for $40k. Doesn't matter how well designed or taken care of it is.

Second hand means lower value. Period. I would sell this suit starting at $1000, and go from there. Also depends on how long he's been using it.

Again, you're comparing this to the cost of another maker. This isn't a used Media suit, so his prices are irrelevant. Also how about the listings for used Mixed Candy suits which usually go for more than a custom suit from them would cost. This isn't a car, its a fursuit. Market value will drive up the price. An already completed costume, from a maker who takes few comissions, will drive up the market value. If you disagree, then you have the option of going away and not buying it :P

if nobody bites, then she can reconsider! But definitely isn't anyone else's place to tell her what her time and work is worth to her, monetarily. :)

While I cannot disagree that Beetlecat does have special techniques with fur that make her style uniquely hers, please know your furs before quoting which she has used. If you look at the photos, the 'luxury shag' that DF sells as solid long pile fur, The black on the chest and the grey on the shoulders, from what I see, are that exact fur, and the white on the ankles appears to be white "sparklefur". Also, calling them lesser quality furs is rather biased. There are many furs from various sources that work well for specific uses, and that includes the well known "DF", which is great for many uses, but known for being a holy terror to trim down.. and in fact, some of the furs that she uses are more expensive, like the NFT accents, but I am fairly certain not all the short pile furs are as costly.. for example, I know of two quality types of shortpile fur that are just under $20/yd.

I actually do know my furs, thank you. While there may be some usage of DF furs, the entire suit is clearly not made of DF which was more so my point. She has also said herself she rarely uses DF furs, and based on her own prices when she sells off her leftover fur, that is part of where I get my basis that she uses more expensive materials, and the other from simply talking to her. I myself use DF often and have no bias against it, but in the case of other furs which cost a lot more, it technically is of a lesser quality. It's used often because its readily available, and best cost wise for most. I buy fur on a regular basis, and really do pay attention to this sort of stuff, these aren't just blind statements.

Aside from the sparkle at the ankles (left over from the panda I made), there is no DF fur in this suit :)

The majority comes from Montery Mills (the whites and blacks) or I'm Stuffed (the long grey). The rest are local finds or bought from other fursuit makers online.

I'm somewhat relieved that I'm 6'4". Because otherwise, I would seriously consider what my checkbook could handle, and right now it could not handle such a purchase. I could do it, but it would hurt me for many months.

You're still on my dream-list, however. If money falls into my lap, or a big raise comes through, I'd come knocking for an original more my size.

I own a suit from Beetlecat, her stuff is definitely worth this much. She puts just as much effort into detailing the head as she does into tailoring the body suit, making every digit on the hand paws, sewing the tail, and making the feet the perfect shape. She uses the nicest furs (and mixes tons of different ones seamlessly) and her airbrushing in done in a manner where stuff has nice details added in just the right places without ruining the texture of the fur (magic?) haha. I have suits from a lot of makers (9 currently in total and I had a 10th from a different maker previously) and can attest her price is worth what you're paying for! She has figured out over time all the best places to put the seams and her stuff is also super comfy and surprisingly light for looking so amazing! :P
