Communism.. ftw?

As far as I know, communism basically means that everything on earth belongs to everyone on earth and that there is no reason for
humanity to fight amongst themselves for the ownership of something they want because, in a way, its already theirs because its
being shared amongst everyone.
I havent given it much thought.. but is there any possible downside to Communism?
