In Memoriam: Great Aunt Louise
The oldest related matriarch of the combined Adey-Voegtlin-Oberle families who survived a century and celebrated a 100th not all that long ago died very peacefully in her sleep a few days back. Mom and Dad had been doing a frequent 'death watch' when her health and condition started failing here and there, but even in her last day she had still enough energy to grab one more bourbon from the pub and one more meal from the Chinese Food place. The following morning and day she simply never woke up, passed very peacefully in her sleep.
Thank you to my "Aunt Louise" a tough old bird if there ever was one. Aunt to my mother, sister to my Grandmother, she had a really good run and we will miss her and remember fondly how she was still clopping around in high heels in the hills of Germany at 95.
Funeral will be quick small and just the 'old folks' With more extneded relatives planned to give her a proper send off in Florida at a to-be-determined date. Why Florida for two reasons first being Uncle Ernie is down that direction and Louise lived in the area for years with her husband Woody. (yes, okay, you have permission to snicker at that name)
I'll certainly miss her but it's not a death to be too sad over. She led a good life.

When my Aunt Cass died it was like the last death that could affect me, she was also 100 and had been around for all of us for as long as we could remember. Once that happened, everything looked different. It would never affect me the same again.
