Anyway ina random unrelated issue:
I'm trying to decide on a water type I should shift into my team in Pokemon White 2. I dont like the game as much as the first ones, but its still fun to me cause it's a pokemon game and i like some of the added features. Ive hit the poitn where im given surf and surf is one of those moves you use enough thata team member should have it.
Whenever i get a game, i like to get a different team for each one. Not very exciting toi use the same team over and over, evebn if they are all your favs. Plus this time i wanted to try and get through with a relatively piss poor team for giggles, though i've upgraded a few due to heckling from my friend. Currently my team stands as:
Servine [I started with oshawatt last time and i persoanlly dont liek firepig even if he's awesome stat-wise]
Lucario [the first one i ran into that was legit and it was female, i HAD to get it lol]
Magnezon [ive never used a magnemite on my team so i decided why not?]
Evolved Solosis [i forgot its name plus i had black originally and used musharna last time]
Zoroark [i forgot to use the zorua event in the last game and he was a freebie]
Growlithe [he's cool plus i was gonna use volaronna but he had way better moves at the time so im debating still]
I alsio have a Leavanny i use time to time cause I think she's kinda awesome.
So decisions decisions for me. im at the point i may just make a lapras egg in Black and trade it over. lapras never does wrong.

Then, when you get thrunderbolt, remove power gem with thunderbolt. A starmie with Surf, psychic, ice beam, and thunderbolt can destroy nearly anything.
I had the same issue and I was going to use Stunfisk for my surfing pokemon, but no, they locked Icirrus city and all of the connecting places away until AFTER the E4, which includes stunfisk.
Also, fill out your habitat list for reversal mountain, the guy who wants to see the full habitat list will give you the TM for false swipe.
But yeha i was thinking of dumping magnezone. he's great for catching pokemon but sucks as a battler, only cause he doesnt learn anything. i have a fuckign magnezone and its 'best' attack at the moment is thundershock. Cause he keeps getting standard attack moves when his special is much higher and the tm for thunderbolt is probabaly after the E4 as usual lol.
Village bridge, rare water spot, surf on it.
It's only at 5% but you can catch as many as you can find and, hey, will be a nice water pokemon.
Believe me, they let you go to MANY places.
Also, don't freak out, the Ions (Cobalion, virizion, and Terrakion) all end up running up to you and suck, but you DO NOT have to fight them, they will still be there even after you beat the E4.
And if you think the time you get to village bridge is "towards the end of the game", you're sadly mistaken as a heck of a lot takes place after that. Sure you may have 6 badges, but they aren't a reliable gauge of progress anymore.
I was wondering when the deer would pop up. i heard they were semi important but they werent in their previous locations.
Regardless i think i might just go into black and breed upa good staryu. I can atleast make sure it has a decent nature. or are they doign that silly "no trading with previous games until you beat E4" I get it for past generations but D&Pe let you trade into Platinum a any time if i remmeebr
I think i might follow legion-beasts advice and trade myself a staryu egg, if i can.
I do agree on the legendaries though, they are a bit much but at the same time, no one really uses them ingame aside for event dlcs and such.
i dont agree on the bad bird pokemon though. They've introduced some pretty awesome ones over the yaers. Currently the ones i always see on teams that are relaly good for Braviary, who is an awesome bald eagle guy, and Skarmory, though he's kinda funny looking but by definition still a bird.
But if you dont wanna play i get it. my friend is like that. he hasnt legit played a pokemon game since probabaly gold and silver but he keeps up with the generations cause he likes pokemon. Though i think he just does it for my sake so we can talk about them lol
Well thats the point: I play Magic the Gathering so I prefer strong teams before cute teams, but I just find its kind of sad to dont give every Pokemon the chance to be a great one if you train it right. I mean, that takes away there sence in the game, so you just can see them and train your pokemon on them also if you like them, because they never get their way to an good powerlevel.

After all I played White edition ( or black?... the one with reshiram <3 ) , and I prefer my Team to not include an legend, cause thats kind of boring.
But I sold my DS XL long time now, for money reasons, also I Wait for an big version of 3DS to get this one, if then there is a new edition I will play it.
As far as the shitty pokemon, it's mostly for security. Basically if they'll have a useless pokemon in one generation, and then in the next gens they have the option to make an evolved form of it and make it decent. perfect example is Tangela. Tangela was a piece of shit in gen 1, but then in gen 4 when it becomes tangrowth it's actually a pretty decent grass tank. So havign shit pokemon in generatiosn kind of makes sense.
Black had Reshiram in it. I never use legendaries myself, but i will admit that i liked the idea of having you pit your legendary against you're "rival's". I persoanlly didnt to challenge myself but i still liked where they went with it.
But unfortunately, they wouldnt be able to really incorperate that into a regular pokemon games, because already, those games are focusing on one aspect of the pokemon world, being a trainer. As as a trainer, it's expected of you to train and battle pokemon to try and be at the top. But i agree with you that other aspects of the world might be cool. They could try making a game where you have a different job, like pokemon breeder, or scientist etc. And you pretty much go about with a pokemon as your best friend living day to day. What pokemon could do is incorperate the playstyle of Animal Crossing into a pokemon side game, since they have the rights to it.
So i think it would be nice to see a game like that along the lines of Digimon World, which were just console versions of the virtual pets, but at the same time i would wnat them seperate from reg pokemon battlign game. Cause i know how the company would do it and i know how fans would react and that could be a thing to ruin a working game franchise that 15+ years going strong.
