I guess technically you would be uploading stuff to your collections gallery. It's cool how they separate that there.

okay cool. I just like having all my art on all the sites so it gets as many views as possible. It's like... instant messaging accounts. I have one of each since none have everyone on them.

I can understand people wanting to do that, but I don't want to deal with the hassle of keeping multiple accounts all synced and stuff. x_x

Oh darn. Well at least you're on there. Since you're not an artist technically you don't have to upload anything. You can just wait for the other artists to upload the pictures of you and add them to your collections gallery.

If I were to use it, I think I would run my own gallery. Still a neat feature, though.

Well if the artist posts the submission, their policy states you have to use their submission in your collection instead of your own copy. They want to avoid multiple posts of the same work.
Also, would you upload your gallery there if there was a script that did it for you?

Well, that's an awfully lame policy, I'm afraid. I much prefer FA's "for you or by you" policy. I enjoy showcasing the works I commission, and if they can't support that use case, they're not much use to me.

As for the script, I don't know, maybe. I'd still really prefer to only manage one gallery at a time.

It still shows up in your gallery and is similar to being a submission. You would get the same recognition the artist would just like on FA.

But wouldn't it be great if we weren't stuck in a sub par website simply because it has the most users? We have a chance to be in a better place. We can at least make use of all the new site has to offer.
If anything, you can think of it as a backup account in the way you backup your files.

I don't know, I kind of like FA. We'll see how this all shakes out.

I honestly don't know. I haven't used that feature yet since a lot of artists either aren't joining or uploading their stuff. (which would include my requests from them)

I like FA too, but weasyl is offering better tools for artists and users that FA simply isn't. FA could have implemented a folder system after years of users requesting it and weasyl wouldn't look that fancy anymore. It just feels like this website cares about helping out the users.
I keep all my stuff in all galleries until stuff shakes out. It makes switching easy because it's already done.

Also I'm the kind of person that wants the USA to switch to the metric system. This might explain my reasoning for advocating stuff like this.

I have an engineering background, so I'm right there with you on the metric system. ^_~

Thanks for the info, in any event. No use getting all bent out of shape about it, I guess, since I presently plan to remain with FA. It just seems like an anti-patron system.

Imagine another big push to get everyone on board the metric system eventually. You wouldn't just force everyone to switch at once. There would be a lot of rebellion and confusion. Instead everyone would have to learn and adapt to both systems. Slowly the emphasis would be shifted from the imperial system to the metric one. It would be the one listed first on signs and stuff. Slowly support for the empirical system would be dropped over the years until metric becomes the new standard.

I'm fine with FA. I just wish we could smoothly move to a site that deserves the attention for the effort put into it. I plan on staying on FA (and all the other furry sites), but I'll just give weasyl more attention.

Sorry, I'm just grouchy. x_x Really, though, a big part of the reason I actually maintain an FA gallery is the fun of sharing my commissions. Without the comments and such, and being in control of my own submissions (how fun would it be to have an artist delete something out from under me), I'd really just commission pieces for myself.
