Spike save the day. What a twist.

The episodes were really good.

Spike being the hero was an impressive way for the episode

Only thing I'm remotely disappointed about is the villain. I loved the way he looked and his powers and all that, but he didn't get much characterization at all. Hopefully we'll see him again so that can happen.

Other than that, episode was totally great. Can't wait for the next one. (And the flood of fat crystal pony/Somber art that I hope will follow)

I thought it was rather solid, overall. A tad too much singing for my tastes, but I can let that slide. A good setup for what looks to be an actual overarching season.

Also, Sombrero was probably the lousiest villain I've ever seen.
